Check Point SNX Components Shell is a lightweight host environment for Secure Network Extender (SNX), Check Point’s SSL VPN technology. It installs, launches, and maintains the components needed to establish secure remote-access sessions to Check Point security gateways, whether initiated from a web portal or a desktop shortcut. The shell manages component updates delivered by the gateway, negotiates authentication (such as username/password, certificates, or multi-factor methods configured by your administrator), and sets up the virtual network interfaces and routes required for policy-compliant access.
Typical uses include enabling employees and contractors to reach internal applications over HTTPS without deploying a full VPN client.
